Sesame Workshop Summer 2023 - PR & Publicity Intern in New York, New York

The PR & Publicity Intern will assist with daily operations of the Sesame Workshop PR team and provide support during the planning, development and implementation phases of Sesame Workshop's various communications initiatives. The PR team is looking for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator. This person must be a current undergraduate student at an accredited institution and be able to work in-person at our New York City office this summer. Schedule: 2-3 days per week (in-person/hybrid); up to 21 hours per week Responsibilities will include: Monitor public email inboxes for press inquiries & clip requests; read & respond to fan mail Assemble & mail PR packages Help coordinate logistic/travel arrangements & prepare documents for interviews & appearances with Sesame Street Muppets & SW executives Collect & organize weekly press clips; create & maintain a database of coverage highlights Draft guides/how-to documents for departmental processes Help prepare project budgets & process/track departmental invoices & payments Provide on-site support for local press appearances with Sesame Street Muppets & SW executives Assist with various administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, ordering office supplies, & organizing swag Help with other ongoing projects as needed Qualifications/Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, & able to juggle multiple ongoing projects Excellent written communication skills Self-starter & comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint Basic graphic design & video editing experience a plus (specifically, knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, & Premiere) Familiarity with Airtable a plus Basic Requirements: Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree Must have at least a 3.0 GPA Must have the legal right to work in the United States About Sesame Workshop Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street, the pioneering television show that has been reaching and teaching children since 1969.
