Overview
The primary purpose of this position is to conduct an ongoing evangelical ministry with the specific purpose of introducing all youth at the New York Temple Corps to Jesus Crist through the art of music.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain practical approaches to building solid Christian living among the children under your influence.
Develop and maintain all spiritual, music and creative arts for Summer Day Camp.
Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving in the group.
Develop opportunities for interaction between campers and staff.
Help prepare, set up and clean up for daily activities and meals.
Accompany and supervise the children during field trips.
Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
Assist in teaching or leading an activity as assigned.
Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, table manners and sportsmanship.
Encourage respect for personal property, equipment and facilities.
Assist the Youth Associate with other tasks as given as a part of the summer staff program
Qualifications
Must have experience with children’s and youth ministry preferred.
Ability to accept supervision and guidance
Good character, integrity, adaptability, patience, self-control, self-motivated and well organized.
Demonstrates initiative and ability to prioritize responsibly and lead others.
Must have basic office skills including use of the computer.
Must have music ability in Brass Band, Theory, Vocal and other instrumental instruction.
Prefer but not required to posses a valid, current driver’s license.
