SUMMARY:
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City government's chief financial agency. OMB's staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the Mayor’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the services and activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Parks Unit monitors the expense and capital budget of the Department of Parks and Recreation as well as the expense budget of the Landmark Preservation Commission, including developing cost reduction proposals, reviewing agency fiscal requests, and determining the budgetary impact of programmatic decisions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The intern will lead the following project under general supervision, with latitude for independent initiative and judgement:
Review and authorization of capital projects’ scopes and funding, specifically performed through the Certificate to Proceed (CPs) approval process.
Capital budget modifications to align with DPR’s planned project registration.
Expense and grant budget modifications to align with DPR’s planned spending.
Amendment of detailed spreadsheets regarding the agency’s expenditures by program area.
Ad hoc requests and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in an accredited college, university or law school.
