Position Summary

The Summer Housing Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, the Summer Housing Assistant will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. S/he will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist incoming visitors

  • Participate in check-in and check-out process on weekends and after hours

  • Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department’s procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)

  • General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes, and other duties as assigned

  • Assist with the heavy volume of phones; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary

  • Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time

This position is temporary and will be held during the summer break

Position Duties

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Reliable and patient with visitors

  • Office experience a plus

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong customer service and organizational skills

    Work Hours

Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 20 hours per week when school is in session and no more than 35 hours per week during breaks

Hourly Rate Range $15.00 - $15.00/hour
