SiriusXM is looking for a strong collaborative intern to continue their educational journey and gain experience within the SiriusXM Streaming DevOps Team. The DevOps Intern will support applications, hardware and configurations deployed across the Sirius XM's Streaming infrastructure. The position focuses on streaming deployment and security architecture within the SiriusXM streaming areas; however, this team may be involved in some of the Pandora infrastructure. This also includes technical infrastructure that supports application monitoring, software build machines, and software support servers. The intern should have a penchant for solving tough technical problems, and a dedication to ensuring high-availability.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform a wide variety of software/hardware configuration/maintenance tasks of many varied back-end systems, including, but not limited to, Windows/Linux server OS/software, server class hardware, VMware VSphere, AWS Infrastructure, Postgres/SQL databases and various application servers.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure
Creating and maintaining AWS Cloud Formation Scripts
Monitor and understand security events with WAFs, IDS/IPS, and access logs
Installation, configuration, and administration of Linux/Windows Servers.
Networking (TCP/IP) configuration including Firewall ACL's and security
Installation, configuration, and administration of virtualization infrastructures running on AWS, Hashicorp Nomad, VMware suite of products: VSphere 5.X and newer, vCenter, ESXi Servers
Creation, Management and Configuration of Virtual Machines, Clone and Templates
Document and maintain procedures for administering, maintaining, and supporting infrastructure
Create automated tasks with shell scripts (bash, batch, python)
Perform other duties as required.
You must be 18 years of age or older.
Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2023 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics, Risk and Security Analysis
Requirements and General Skills:
Be enthusiastic about learning new technologies and skills.
Interest in how companies use data to deliver fantastic experience to our users.
Must be capable of managing time well and working collaboratively.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
AWS knowledge base
AWS certification(s) a plus
Familiar with most flavors of Linux/Windows
Experience with a terminal in a Linux or Window environment
Experience with development / CI applications such as SVN, GitHub, Bitbucket
Knowledge of networking concepts
Proficiency in documenting using MS Office or Google Docs
SQL, and NoSQL Database knowledge is a plus
Experience with Active Directory and Windows Server administration is a plus
Server Hardware configuration, installation, and maintenance experience
