Lovitt & Touch, a Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Marsh, serving the risk prevention and insurance needs of middle market companies throughout Arizona and the United States.

Position Overview

The Lovitt & Touch and Marsh McLennan Agency internship program is designed to introduce college students to the lead generation, client service and social selling aspects of the insurance brokerage world.Over a 6-week program, students will be given an opportunity to shadow experienced sales and service personnel along with performing some hands-on project work. The internship is a full time position, (Monday - Thursday) lasting approximately mid-June through the end of July. Interns will work in a variety of situations, at times working as members of a team and other times working alone on an assignment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Attend training sessions on the different departments within MMA and the insurance industry.
  • Assist with the research and development of sales presentations and preparations for client meetings.
  • Assist in performing day-to-day administrative duties.
  • Job shadow in meetings and client visits.
  • Demonstrate mastery of learned knowledge when performing duties such as: Researching potential sales prospects, cold calling prospects to determine interest level in discussing brokerage services, etc.
  • Rotate through practice groups/teams shadowing individuals to learn about that team\'s clients and industry.
  • Participate in processing work in a limited capacity based on the needs of the team.
  • Attend training sessions on the different departments within MMA and the insurance industry.
  • Provide support to client service teams through daily service activities.
  • Assist with or manage any special project that may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Undergraduate within 1-2 years of graduation, working toward a Bachelor\'s degree preferably in a business related field of study.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with prospective and existing clients and internal associates.
  • Results oriented with demonstrated skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to work semi-autonomously in a fast paced environment.
  • Professional experience in sales or client service environment preferred.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
