System Testing Analyst-EDI

Please note: our offices are currently closed due to the pandemic and our employees are working from home. Once our offices reopen, this position will transition to working in either our NYC, Rockville, MD or Bedford, MA offices.

As a System Testing Analyst, you will be responsible for the testing of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Web Services and internal processes.This includes preparation and documentation for testing, processing test claims, identifying issues and potential solutions, managing defects, troubleshooting of issues, and supporting and monitoring production software releases.
Your specific duties in this role will include:
Test new and enhanced claims processing systems and complex EDI and Web Services processes
*Participate in functional and technical design discussions for new features and system changes
*Prepare test plans and build appropriate test cases
*Perform analysis and document results
*Manage defect resolutions, warranty releases
*Propose enhancements and process improvements
*Support deployments with smoke testing in multiple environments
*Volume, performance, regression testing as required
*Participate in implementation meetings with clients and vendors committed to establishing an EDI partnership with MPI.
*Ensure proper setup of the EDI tools and systems that support file transfer between MPI and new trading partners.
*Conduct necessary testing and in-depth business analysis to find and resolve any potential issues prior to deploying into the production environment.
*Constructively present testing results and propose adjustments that will improve results for our clients/vendors and strengthen our ongoing partnership.
*Monitor, audit, and report on the processing of newly implemented trading partners to confirm their successful transition to the production environment.
Partner with other IT teams for process improvements
*Monitor the production client setups and proactively prioritize, communicate, and resolve any EDI process or system issues.
*Partner with other IT teams to implement enhancements and defect fixes.
*Partner with other IT teams to find and eliminate errors.
3.Perform ad hoc analysis of various facets of EDI processing including but not limited to system performance, claim turnaround times, data mapping, and claim volumes
4.Prepare and maintain documentation that defines operational procedures, describes client requirements, and shares relevant analysis outcomes with internal and external stakeholders
5.Support clients and trading partners with their non-standard requests for ad hoc reports, testing analysis and other technical deliverables
6.Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal colleagues (including IT, Sales and Marketing, and Operations) and external contacts
7.Support Manager with team goals and corporate strategies as well as assist with the training and coaching of other staff
8.Provide coverage for other team members as needed
9.Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
10. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and requirements.

* Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or the equivalent combination of work experience and technical training
* 3+ years of prior experience with EDI / Web Services or similar file transfer protocols.
* Knowledge of writing test plans
* Experience building test cases for back end data processing
* Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
* Experience with SQL queries
* Experience with X12 837 file format
* Exposure to and general understanding of Healthcare claims processing
* Exceptional analytic and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
* Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
* Clear understanding and working knowledge of HIPAA EDI protocols
* Ability to juggle multiple requests at once
* Understanding of internet applications and networks desired
