KPMG is currently seeking a Tax Intern to join our Ignition Tax (https://tax.kpmg.us/services/ignition-tax.html) team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teams who work with Tax business teams and firm clients to identify and analyze business problems, provide technical feasibility estimates and develop innovative approaches leveraging one or more digital technologies (Process Robotics, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Data Visualization)

  • Help serve as a developer in the above mentioned technology areas and help establish a competency in those areas for Tax Ignition

  • Support the business and a variety of member firm clients within multiple industries

  • Help prepare process and technical documentation and artifacts, actively participate in proof of concepts, hackathons and vendor product evaluations; present findings to team

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related field

  • Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.00 or above

  • Upon completion of this internship candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements

  • Basic programming knowledge in .NET/Java/R/Python/SQL and understanding of relational database concepts is required

  • Fundamental knowledge of one or more digital technologies such as Cloud, Machine Learning (SciPy, numpy), Full Stack development using Angular or React or other modern JavaScript libraries, Data & Analytics (Alteryx, PowerQuery, Azure Data Factory), Visualization (PowerBI ,Tableau, Qlik), Automation (Power Platform, UiPath, Blue Prism, Automation Anywhere) and Big Data tools on Cloud (Microsoft, Google and AWS) preferred

  • Demonstrated quality service mindset; strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, quantitative skills and problem-solving skills and ability to navigate MS Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

  • Excellent communication, time management and leadership skills; flexible and adaptable team player; and resourceful in delivering high quality work

  • Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
