Position Summary

As a Tax Supervisor at MBAF, your primary responsibility will be to deliver of a full range of tax services for multiple clients in a wide variety of industries. You will interact closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise. In addition, you will provide primary and secondary review of complex tax returns and develop and manage staff. As a Tax Supervisor you will work closely with senior management and staff on client management, practice development, and business development activities.


  • Occasional preparation of tax return forms for individuals, partnerships and corporations.

  • Ensure tax adjustments are made to financial statements for preparation of tax returns.

  • Demonstrate extensive technical skills with tax compliance assignments for partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations, trusts, and individual tax clients working proficiently with specific tax forms.

  • Ensure compliance with appropriate state, federal and international tax jurisdictions.

  • Perform detail review of tax filings for timely submission.

  • Supervise, train, and mentor staff and interns with respect to tax technical matters, tax compliance matters, and their professional development.

  • Develop good working relationships with clients to enhance client satisfaction and work with client management and staff at all levels to perform tax services.

  • Maintain ongoing communication with senior management to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, make sure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively.

  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and stay informed regarding tax changes and issues that could affect clients.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (150 semester hours of education preferred)

  • CPA is required

  • Two to four+ years of progressive public accounting experience in tax

  • Experience in International Tax is a plus

  • Exceptional client service skills

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment

  • Work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites if needed
