The Tech Manager at the Ed Sullivan Theater is the point person on all technical hardware, software and overall operation. This includes the entire technical facility - audio, video, post production, file-based workflows, etc.

  • Coordinates all technical activity in support of production as well as all updates, upgrades and ongoing maintenance

  • Work closely with producers, writers, director, editors, artists, digital team, social media team, footage team to provide the appropriate technical complement required to fulfill the need, and with the CBS/COE on-site Production and Operations Management team to provide the appropriate personnel, arrange for rentals, etc.

  • sponsible for ensuring that the entire technical facility is operating at peak performance and is ready to accommodate the needs of the production

  • Attend production meetings, anticipate the technical needs of the production based upon those meetings, and coordinate all technical activity in support of the production

  • Responsible for being up to speed on the maintenance status of each technical system including firmware/software versions as well as any vendor support agreements, pending upgrades, etc.,



  • At least 5 years experience as a field or studio tech manager or mobile unit supervisor in a network, or high level cable television production environment that specializes in live or near-live, multi-camera news, sports or entertainment production

  • Must be able to work in a high-pressure, fast paced environment with constantly changing requirements

  • Must be familiar with Sony HDC-4300 (4K) cameras, Sony MVS series switcher, Orad video processors, on-camera LED walls, wireless microphone, IFB and PL systems
