The New School Temporary Ensemble Operations Coordinator in New York, New York
Responsibilities:
The College of Performing Arts (CoPA) at The New School is seeking two highly qualified Temporary Ensemble Operations Coordinators to join its production team. Reporting to the Manager of Large Ensembles, the Temporary Ensemble Operations Coordinator supports more than 500 students across the College of Performing Arts who take part in large ensemble activities. The Temporary Ensemble Operations Coordinator will lead and collaborate in the oversight of large ensemble programs including the Mannes Orchestra, Mannes American Composers Ensemble, New School Studio Orchestra, College of Performing Arts Theatre Orchestra, and more.
The Temporary Ensemble Operations Coordinator is a compassionate and motivated administrator who prioritizes students and their experience at CoPA. The coordinator is an excellent collaborator and communicator with an ability to manage complex programmatic processes and operations.
This is an FLSA nonexempt hourly (14 hours per week) fixed term position with a desired start date of June 17th, 2024 and an end date of August 28th, 2024.
This is an onsite position with opportunities for some remote work.

Salary
● $24/hour
Work Mode
● Hybrid/Split – Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.
Responsibilities
Assist the Large Ensemble Manager in securing performance rights, execute purchases/rentals of scores and parts, and oversee the preparation and distribution of parts
Collaborate with the Communications team to develop concert programs
Assist in creation of IT, A/V and facilities work orders for rehearsals and concerts
Participate in inventory management and maintenance of orchestral instruments owned by CoPA
Assist with summer residency and partnership activities as assigned
Assist in planning of seating auditions
Work with the Large Ensemble Manager and faculty to develop rosters for large ensemble activities.
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in arts administration or production, including student work, internships, volunteer work, and other forms of experience
Basic knowledge of the operations of orchestras and other music ensembles, including knowledge of repertoire, personnel management, orchestra library management, and/or stage management
Strong analytical skills and ability to develop creative approaches to complex issues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; can present complex information to various audiences.
Experienced or able to learn and develop fluency in The New School’s suite of data systems including WorkDay, Tableau, Banner, and 25Live.
