The New School Temporary Student Accounts Assistant in New York, New York


The Temporary Student Accounts Assistant is a full-time seasonal position reporting to the Associate Director of Student Accounts. The Temporary Student Accounts Assistant will be responsible for providing support for all of our student related interactions; assisting in daily operations, payment processing, and assisting with influx of emails, calls and in-person inquiries. This is an hourly position aimed at maintaining quality service for our students and TNS community.

  • Handle complex and varied problems, which require analysis and interpretation of account details and discretion.

  • Respond to emails and calls

  • Process payments and deposits, maintaining accuracy and using cash controls.

  • Provide kiosk assistance; including web page and MyNewSchool navigation for Student Account related inquiries.

  • Process requests for forms completion, including bank letters, notarizations and verifications.

  • Assist and support Registrar and Student Accounts staff in daily operations as needed.

  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Hourly Rate: $21.12

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of Student Accounts experience

  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs with a working knowledge of Excel

  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a diverse, dynamic team of professionals.

  • Ability to adhere to University COVID -19 policy and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of higher educational systems

  • Knowledge of Banner, Touchnet, Paymytuition and Google Docs
