Cornell Financial Engineering Manhattan (CFEM) was founded in 2007 to serve as New York City-based campus for the School of Operations Research and Information Engineering. CFEM mission is to provide practical education for students enrolled in ORIE's Master of Engineering with Financial Engineering concentration (MEng FE). MEng FE is a 3-semester program that requires all students to spend 3rd semester at CFEM. In addition to academic programs, CFEM delivers broad professional education to MEng FEs. Professional development is designed to assist these students, throughout their 3-semester tenure at Cornell, with summer internship and full-time recruiting. As such professional development assistance and development offered by CFEM has become and integral and important part of MEng FE education.
Works closely with CFEM Director on providing top notch professional development to Ithaca- and CFEM-based ORIE MEng with FE concentration students
Assists with developing and running key recruiting events, such as FE Career Bootcamps, career-development workshops, networking events, and panel discussions geared toward students' employment and career goals
Engages in building and maintaining relationships with employers and alumni to increase job and internship opportunities for students. Communicates such opportunities for students and connects them with employers.
Attends on-site and online meetings with employers and other events as deemed necessary by the Director
Delivers key career-building educational components of the MFE program, such as interview prep, resumes critique, mock interviews to student via individual or group office hours.
Monitors students' progress as they seek summer and full time employment. Actively engages students in his/her assessment
Creates, organizes, and updates employment and other relevant information on all students enrolled in MFE. Data is used for a variety of internal and external assessments and marketing
College degree, 3+ years of relevant experience in career service or industry relationships, proven record of bringing in new accounts and clients; outstanding communication skills; strong MS Office skills, high comfort level with LinkedIn, browsing internet and finding information; experience in career-coaching familiarity with wide range of financial industry recruiting practices with the emphasis on junior talent and on-campus recruiting is a plus.
Full time, non-benefits eligible temporary employee for 5-6 months.
