Citi’s Graduate Recruitment & Program Management Team is seeking a University Relations Manager to oversee a team providing leadership and management of our involvement at key universities. This team will liaise with campus recruiters, senior management, career services, school faculty, school clubs/organizations, candidates, internal technology and marketing experts.

Responsibilities

The University Relations Manager will be responsible for building relationships and developing innovative strategies that differentiate Citi on campus. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Promote relationships with key university faculty at a select set of schools

  • Develop a deep understanding of perceptions and needs of students, faculty and administration to seek opportunities to advance students skills and experiences while reinforcing our position at the university

  • Identify, develop and implement opportunities for co-branding and partnerships with key universities for industry and academic related initiatives

  • Identify and develop opportunities for Citi engagements to deepen relationships with selected schools

  • Stay connected to overall campus recruiting strategy, be knowledgeable about the different programs offered at Citi

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders within Citi business units

  • Develop strategy for key universities in partnership with campus recruiters, senior management, internal marketing team including communications, social media and virtual recruitment opportunities

  • Prepare briefing document for senior leaders involved in campus events outlining our history with the university, the strategy/plan for the year and prep senior speakers prior to events

  • Participate in national university programs, projects and taskforces, as well as industry related and academic conference opportunities

  • Drive and communicate recruiting calendar and plan, school policies, deadlines (i.e. application, interviews), event details and logistics

  • Attend events that promote Citi to candidates at key universities Ensure firmwide events are maximizing our brand for all the programs represented

  • Large focus on Data - Track and measure key metrics and criteria for selected universities (i.e. spend, yield, participation) that help inform overall campus recruiting strategy

  • Provide post-mortem after recruiting season each year to summarize activities at the universities

  • Keep internal stakeholders informed of the market trends that may impact recruitment strategies and help influence stakeholders to ensure organization competitive positioning

  • Work with HR partners in sites when using campus as source to ensure relationships with universities are aligned with the overall campus recruiting strategy

  • Contribute to the overall strategy while ensuring day-to-day operational excellence

  • Manage University Relations team, including performance management, coaching and development

  • Oversee Sophomore Leadership Program, Campus Ambassador Program, and partner on other ad hoc projects throughout the year

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will be a college graduate, preferably with 5+ years of campus recruiting, event planning, and other HR experience. Should also have:

  • Proven track record leading a progressive campus recruiting effort

  • Desire to be in a client-oriented environment with enthusiasm and high level of interest in recruiting

  • Specialized knowledge and expertise of academic institutions and curriculums

  • Collaborative and relationship driven with demonstrated creativity

  • Strong technical skills, including significant experience using Excel

  • Ability to prioritize as needed while handling multiple time-sensitive projects in a very fast-paced environment

  • Strong time management skills, organizational skills, work ethic, initiative, sense of urgency and attention to detail

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills including oral and written communication

  • Must be able to multitask and bring projects through to completion with minimal supervision

  • Must be able to influence, negotiate and consult effectively

  • Strong project management, creative problem-solving skills and ability to act independently

  • Team player with flexibility to accommodate different personalities and work styles as well as confidence to manage interactions and expectations at all levels of the organization

  • Flexibility for travel and to work evening hours and some weekends
