BlackRock Real Assets provides investors with Private Real Estate Debt & Equity, Real Asset Securities and Infrastructure Debt & Equity via funds, co-investments and managed accounts.

Product Strategy, Real Estate Equity

Product Strategists are seasoned professionals that partner with our Investment Professionals and act as the link between investment teams and our alternatives sales and client business, playing a central role in facilitating connectivity between investors and distribution. Product Strategists are embedded within investment teams acting as a commercial partner with their respective investment teams to both internal and external clients, and as a specialized source of product, investments, and market knowledge.

BlackRock manages $30bn in Real Estate equity across a range of Value Add Funds, Core Funds and client-specific partnerships. This New York based role partners with our distribution teams to drive annual fundraising in the Americas for all Real Estate Equity, the position also helps deliver forward product pipeline including planning for DC and Wealth, leads engagement on our Investor Relations Program and helps position Real Estate inside BlackRock.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Product planning: Working closely with senior management, this role will be responsible for developing strategic plans with an initial primary focus on fundraising for our US Real Estate equity strategies in Core, Value Added and Managed Accounts, exploring new strategies and promotion of global real estate in the US.

  • Investment Strategy articulation. When required, act as a proxy for the Portfolio Manager in meetings with BlackRock's salesforce, existing and prospective clients, and intermediaries including describing our views on market environment, our portfolios, forward pipelines and the competitive environment

  • Product Marketing : including driving market planning, positioning and distribution preparation. Marketing and Communications to support brand and product development. Measurement, Tracking and Reporting, development and management of client pipelines

  • Partnership with BlackRock's various distribution and portfolio management teams on fundraising and marketing execution; preparation and presentation of the investment opportunity to prospective clients, team schedule management, lead response to RFPs and client diligence

  • Ongoing client mandate & relationship support. Help to solve client investment-related, business and operational issues that arise during the course of the client's relationship with BlackRock by serving as the liaison between the investment team and all other areas of BlackRock (compliance, legal, operations, marketing, and sales).

Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ year of experience with Private Equity Real Estate in a Strategy, Portfolio Management, Distribution or Consulting Role in Real Estate

  • Ability to understand and articulate complex portfolio management concepts effectively

  • An in-depth understanding of the US Private Real Estate market

  • BA/BS Degree in business, analytics or quantitative streams. MBA, other advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred. Series 7 and 66/63
