Police Athletic League Van Driver in New York, New York

The Police Athletic League (PAL) is the largest independent youth organization in New York City that provides educational and recreational activities for children and young adults. PAL Inc. and The New York City Police Department work in partnership to provide communities with summer and after-school recreational and educational activities.

We are looking for a part-time Van Driver employees are responsible for coordinating and supervising any and all transportation of children and/or equipment from school to the PAL Center or from department to department. Work closely with staff in coordinating and mobilizing of goods, services, and children. Take part in all special events and fundraisers as required.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pick-up children from various schools and drop them off at the center.

  • Arrange the loading and unloading of children and/or equipment.

  • Maintain van log.

  • Take van for routine servicing.

  • Keep van clean (exterior & interior).

  • Monitor registration and inspection dates.

  • Create routing and pick up schedules.

  • Assist in all mobilization of special events (Help set up & take down).

  • Responsible for the storage of all department goods and equipment.

  • Maintain van and associated equipment.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Address and handle any job necessary with permission from Facilities Department.

  • Maintain good communication skills between children, staff, and agency.

  • Remain alert and work with care and caution.

  • Knowledge of moving equipment and loading of trucks.

  • Always maintain a good driving and safety record.

  • Delivery and pick up of donations.
