Amazon is looking for a bright, customer obsessed, and motivated individual to join the Amazon Fresh Grocery team. Our team is responsible for the omnichannel Amazon Fresh business, both online and stores.
The Vendor Manager will engage directly with multiple internal and external teams to optimize the product offering in their categories. This person will lead multiple facets of a retail business (e.g., buying/vendor management, product management, operations, marketing/merchandising) and identify growth opportunities. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver results at both a strategic and executional level across all aspects of the business. The Vendor Manager will utilize a wide range of skills and work across major functional areas such as merchandising, buying, pricing, inventory management, operations, online marketing, and finance to drive category performance.
The successful candidate will have strong customer experience intuition, combined with business and product sense. This person should be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. The candidate should be a team player, communicate persuasively and be able to influence internal and external stakeholders of all levels. High judgment, analytical talent, and understanding of Excel will be essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities
The Vendor Manager will have accountability for the business results of their product categories. The Vendor Manager's direct responsibility will be to manage business performance including developing and growing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, setting category strategy, curating product selection, developing promotional programs, driving sales and margin improvements and creating best-in-class customer experiences.
A day in the life
You will be the 'business owner' for your category, working autonomously and possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact your business. You'll develop a thorough understanding of the industry, seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry development. On a regular basis, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting tight deadlines. You will conduct weekly and monthly financial analysis of business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.

Our stores include technology like Just Walk Out and the Amazon Dash Cart to eliminate time spent waiting in line, and Alexa features to help customers manage their shopping lists and better navigate our aisles.
2+ years of experience in brand management, marketing, supply chain, or relevant area such as Retail, CPG, or Management Consulting
2+ years of experience using Excel to analyze data to support decision-making
Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results
Strong multi-tasking ability and experience with meeting multiple deadlines
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with vendor, client, or customer-facing experience
Experience in a buying, marketing, or supply chain function
Experience with process improvement and automation (e.g., LEAN Six Sigma, Process Management)
Proficiency with SQL
