Larry Kutscher - Chief Executive Officer

Larry Kutscher is Chief Executive Officer of A Place for Mom. Larry is a veteran CEO with over 30 years of experience leading digital, technology and service businesses through significant periods of growth and value creation. Prior to this role, he served as Chief Executive Officer of TravelClick, where he drove the company’s overall strategic vision and helped increase the company’s value from approximately $300 million to more than $1.5 billion over eight years.

The Position

We are looking for a seasoned VP of Data Services who willfocus on building out a data lake platform. In this role you will create and manage a domain specific data model for our business across the funnel, develop extract transformation and load processes to apply the business logic. You will enable the business to have a near real time view of activity across our workforce and the funnel. You will work with cross functional teams to understand business reporting requirements and enable the platform to support it so that they can create appropriate reports to manage the business. You will create a data platform that enables us to get in the data business with our community customers. You will manage a team of developers, scrum masters, analysts in an Agile environment to aggregate and model our data across the organization. You will oversee the entire data lifecycle by defining and capturing events to track across the organization at various business stages, analyze the raw data, defining system requirements for ETL pipelines, solving data quality, and productionalizing our data warehouse. You will work with all the Product and Technology teams to build real time data driven services that power our workforce management, web recommendation, crm lead assignment, and community matching. In addition, you will work with several business intelligence/analytics teams to provide a consistent data model for their reporting needs.

Who you are

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is experienced in B2B, B2C, lead generation funnel and conversion analytics. They have experience building data platforms (warehouse/lake) to consolidate, transform and enrich data to enable business reporting, product analytics, development of product features and build reporting capabilities for external customers.


What you will do

  • Responsible for the group’s strategy and roadmap, collect and define business requirements, define outcomes, prototype, work with product and engineering teams to deliver on business outcomes.

  • Ensure performance, quality, and accuracy of our data.

  • Work with the product team to define analytics to measure the desired outcome of product features.

  • Designing experiments to measure the impact of new features on our CRM platform

  • Lead data engineering and analytics technology strategy across the teams

  • Lead the team to deliver platform capabilities for community matching and lead assignment


Required skills and competencies

  • Experience in lead generation, web analytics, B2B analytics, commerce, and funnel conversion across diverse industries

  • Hands on experience in web analytics tools, machine learning algorithms, extract transform and load technologies, business intelligence tools, data warehouse/lake analytics

  • Expertise in business domain driven data modeling

  • Demonstrated expertise in creating near real-time reporting infrastructure

  • Experience in implementing data management platform (DMP) or customer data platforms (CDP)

  • Experience in managing team of developers, and business analysts

  • Have the ability to communicate in a clear and effective manner and the skills to engage broadly with cross-functional teams of diverse skills & mindsets to influence the overall strategy of the product.

  • Ability to think holistically about the customer journey, from our web site to our call centers, our community partners and beyond.

  • Ability to think big picture, but you can roll up your sleeves to solve what is in front of you.

  • A collaborator at heart with a firm belief that it takes multiple points of feedback and perspective to develop the right strategy.

  • Ability to analyze product performance data and generate actionable insights.

  • Experienced in working using Agile (SCRUM) methodology.

  • Experienced in designing and implementing A/B tests.

  • Open to travel.
