Job Description

The Washington Post is looking for a seasoned, entrepreneurial, multimedia agency leader who will develop innovativesolutions that drive top-line revenue and help us shape our sales and digital business model for years to come. More than a skillful executive, you have deep agency and sales experience and are a key member of the executive leadership team that oversees hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. You can manage a complex business that sits at the forefront of sales and agency strategy and are skillful at building business models for the future.

Structure:

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and working within the executive leadership team, this crucial role has oversight of The Washington Post’s global agency and holding company business.

Responsibilities:

  • Build TWP’s annual strategic plan when it comes to our approach to holding company and independent partnerships
  • Set strategic direction and Agency business plans, with defined timing and KPIs
  • Work with your Global Agency Partnership team to build and elevate relationships at the highest levels within the assigned agencies, C-Suite, Senior Agency Influences to continuously uncover strategic opportunities to drive media revenue on a domestic and, ideally, global level
  • Identify and lead the development of joint business projects and/or beta
  • Serve as the internal voice of the customer to help shape product and marketing roadmaps
  • Lead business planning across the Agency Partnership team in order to create forecasts across each holding company
  • Lead senior-level engagements and activations (i.e. CES, Cannes, AdWeek)
  • Partner with VP of Client Partnerships to contribute to and uncover category and client-level opportunities at both the Agency and Brand level
  • Collaborate with a number of internal specialist (i.e. data, platform, measurement, media, analytics) as needed to conceptualize and executive strategic partnership opportunities to bring to market
  • Keep abreast of The Washington Post’s capabilities and product offerings
  • Firmly establish The Washington Post as a leading brand building and business driving partner in the eyes of agency stakeholders
  • Deliver industry thought leadership and develop status as a trusted peer by executives at the leading agencies
  • Work with Agency Partnership team and marketing to develop education & inspiration focused agendas/roadshows

Requirements:

  • A minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience which includes agency and/or sales experience
  • Proven success in creating short and long-term strategies that align with business goals
  • Strong understanding of the agency landscape
  • Proven success collaborating and partnering with C-Suite leaders within the agency and holding company landscape
  • Thorough knowledge of digital media and a point of view on the future of advertising
  • Strong field coaching, motivational, and sales training skills
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team
