Pfizer Inc. Vice President, WRDM Digital Client Partner in New York, New York

Pfizer's Digital organization is seeking a customer focused, energetic, strategic, and innovative Vice President to be the Digital Client Partner for our World-Wide Research, Development, and Medical organization (WRDM). In a highly visible and senior role, you will be charged with developing and leading the overall digital strategy in support of Pfizer's research objectives. You will also advise on all aspects of digital and technology topics and trends, opportunities and internal Digital capabilities while also participating and leading BOLD move initiatives within the organization. As an enterprise leader, you will develop world class digital talent with a relentless focus on accelerating science and continually improving the experience of our scientists around the world.

As the Vice President, Digital Client Partner for WRDM you will:

Drive Digital Transformation Initiatives in partnership with the Research organization

Be an exceptional partner to division/functional stakeholders. Provide digital and technology thought leadership to drive innovative use of technology, data, and/or digital (existing, new) to create value and superior experiences for patients, HCPs, payers and Pfizer. Bring forward ideas which influence future enterprise digital investment

Develop a world class, diverse, digital team to drive acceleration of drug discovery via the application of digital and data; make Pfizer a digital talent magnet for pharmaceutical research

Develop and Lead Digital strategy focused on research outcomes. Oversee the development of cost/benefit business case(s) creation, with input from business sponsors and appropriate Digital teams, to meet division/function needs and Bold Move priorities

Partner with the division/function stakeholders and appropriate Digital groups to manage successful execution of the strategy including solution delivery, business adoption and business case achievement

Engage the Pfizer Digital and external technology/academic ecosystem to understand emerging digital, data, and technology opportunities

Lead governance to prioritize and manage all Digital demand for each division/function. Clearly communicate prioritized demand and div/function needs/requirements to all appropriate Digital groups on an ongoing basis

Prepare and manage annual Digital investment/budget for each div/function with input from appropriate Digital groups.

Work with appropriate Digital groups to leverage and scale products and solutions across customers and geographies as appropriate.

Strong partnership and collaboration skills will be integral as you will be working closely with multiple Research and Digital groups to understand how best to use our global solutions to meet the Bold Moves defined in partnership with Digital and Business leadership. In addition, you will drive success by clearly articulating the priorities of the World-Wide Research Development and Medical organization.

For the business partnership part of the role, you will be an active member of various research leadership teams, using influencing skills to identify opportunities for digital, quantify business impact, and prioritize initiatives; challenging the status quo while developing a deep partnership with scientific leaders.

Role Responsibilities(in more detail)

Business Partnership

Define and drive the Digital (inclusive of data, analytics, and other technologies) strategy for the organization. Interacting with research leadership teams, the business unit leaders of other areas which support the research units, and the various Digital/technology teams managing the solutions, you will lead and support business case development in support of the Digital strategy, focused on measurable outcomes, to ensure consistent and value add partnership with Research, Medical and Digital stakeholders.

Business Engagement

Represent and articulate all Pfizer Digital capabilities and services consumed by Pfizer scientists, research leadership, and partners. May participate in business initiatives that do not have a specific Digital component. Provide thought leadership to drive the organization to continuously improve operations. Proactively manage issues as they arise to minimize impact to research objectives.

Breadth and Depth of Knowledge
Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and healthcare ecosystem. Specifically scientific discovery, lab operations, clinical development, medical, and the digital capabilities which support those activities
Provide technical/functional expertise to Global Research Units/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
Leverage technical/functional expertise within Global Research Units/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
Use knowledge of industry, customer requirements and general business environment to adapt and implement strategic actions for the Global Research Unit/Global Operating Unit or Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit
Exhibit a high level of business knowledge and understanding of the external marketplace and anticipates research line or sub-function customer requirements.
Understand the external technical landscape and the solutions available that could apply to Pfizer business challenges

Basic Qualifications
Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or Masters in Business Administration
Specific subject matter expertise (SME) in all aspects of Pharmaceutical Research and Development supporting multiple therapeutic areas
Proven track record of developing and driving digital strategies in support of high performing research organizations and lab operations
15+ plus years of experience managing complex digital programs, while managing senior customer relationships
Demonstrated ability of building a diverse, high performing team of digital / technology leaders
Seasoned technology professional with significant experience interacting with senior business leaders; including c-suite
Previous experience should include implementation of enterprise-based systems, covering the full system lifecycle, and demonstrated application of digital and data to accelerate drug discovery
Familiarity with computer systems validation and operating in a regulated environment
GCP (Good Clinical Practice), SDLC, Financial management, project management

Preferred Qualifications
PhD in related discipline preferred
