Situation Group Video Editor & Animator in New York, New York

The Studio at Situation Group crafts award-winning work for the world’s leading entertainment, education and mission-driven brands. The Studio seeks a Video Editor & Animator to join our in-house post-production team. This role will report to the Video Director and involve creating all types of video creative, from music videos to social ads. The selected candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, ability to work on multiple projects at one given time, and ability to collaborate across teams.

What You'll Do

The Video Editor & Animator is a collaborative, strategic and an expert storyteller, who easily concepts, animates and executes new video ideas. With experience developing video creative of all types, the Editor can tell a story in 6 seconds, 60 seconds and beyond.

You are well-versed in the digital and video space and thrive on discovering new and emerging technologies and techniques to help our clients shine.

Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Craft, edit and animate various types of compelling video content

  • Mix and master audio and color grade

  • Multi-task and juggle multiple edits simultaneously

  • Collaborate with Producers, Designers, Copywriters, and Creative Directors

  • Maintain client brand and creative standard documents and in every video

  • Discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices

  • Quality check all video content against provided specifications and briefs following internal QA process before sending for review

  • Keep Producers and Project Managers informed of progress

  • Archive and store your work after completion


  • 4+ years of editing and animation experience

  • Advanced understanding of the full Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere Pro & After Effects

  • Extreme attention to detail

  • Full understanding of social media and broadcast output specifications
