Job Description

The VP Marketing Strategy is an important senior role in the Consumer Marketing organization, reporting to the Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy and working very closely with the Global Chief Marketing Officer. This seasoned strategic marketer is responsible for informing the marketing solutions that deliver on the CMO org's revenue and profit goals and key communications associated with the CMO strategies. This role will partner with cross-functional leads across the Consumer Marketing organization to crystalize, enable and execute global marketing strategies. The VP of Marketing Strategy will drive the agenda for key strategy meetings to gain stakeholder alignment and to share business performance with multiple stakeholder audiences, including QBRs, Marketing Strategy Global All Hands, CMO Global All Hands, Board meetings, and more. They will gather and understand key data inputs, revenue performance and consumer and industry trends to help the CMO org achieve its marketing and business objectives. This individual will play a critical role in the global Consumer Marketing Organization, driving business strategy, identifying future opportunities and planning for future initiatives, and ensuring implementation with each of the teams under the CMO. This role will be expected to work with colleagues across multiple functions globally, both inside and outside of Consumer Org.

This position is based at our headquarters at 1 World Trade Center, New York, NY.

Responsibilities/Key Priorities:

Serve as the right arm to the CMO helping to drive a strategic business agenda globally across functional stakeholders. Partner with the CMO on strategic decks and vision work for the business

Laser focus on business performance. Provide POV to leadership team on opportunities for optimization.

Identify new marketing opportunities to help grow audiences and drive consumer revenue, globally

Lead discussions with cross functional teams to achieve the right prioritization of initiatives and the proper resource allocation

Stay up-to-date on consumer, market, channel, and technology trends and proactively identifying new ways to solve business problems

Partner with the SVP, Marketing Strategy and the Global CMO to oversee strategic planning, reporting and execution.

Partner with the CMO leadership team to execute implementation plan for go to market strategies

Drive global consumer strategic planning process to set annual strategy; work with leadership team to execute strategic plans by function, brand, and market

Ensure that the CMO strategy and vision is reflected in all key initiatives.Take a leadership role in the oversight and/or development of the:

Training roadmap

DEI Taskforce

Event Strategy

Communication approach (internal + external)

CMO meeting materials (All Hands, etc.)

Identify key meetings and collaborate with the stakeholders to oversee logistics and prepare materials

Oversee and project manage additional ad-hoc strategic projects that span across multiple CMO functions

Keep abreast of the continually evolving media, business, technology and entertainment marketplace, consumer behaviors, and the competitive landscape, bring market insights, data and thought leadership into strategic planning to continually push the business forward

Identify the need for thought leadership to inform the CMO org business and team members personal growth. Partner with research to execute and/or reach out to external contacts for outside inspiration and education.

Create and execute on a framework to share external insights and trends with the CMO leadership team and the organization at large in order to inform business decisions, partnering with research as needed

Support the SVP, Marketing Strategy and CMO through ongoing Chief of Staff responsibilities including: driving strategic planning, establishing the agenda, overseeing material development and running key staff meetings, assisting with team communications and representing the SVP, Marketing Strategy in meetings as needed.

Own internal & external communications process, collaborating with the leadership team to ensure there is a clear cadence, format, and decisioning process on what and how to communicate

Write all communication from the office of the SVP, Marketing Strategy and the office of the CMO, in order to ensure a consistent voice for each, including but not limited to bi-monthly CMO Comms and internal notes from the CMO

Key relationships will include:

The Global CMO and Head of Consumer Revenue

Marketing Strategy org senior leadership, including: The SVP, Marketing Strategy, and the heads of Research & Insights, Brand Management, Creative, and New Business Innovation

CMO Org senior leadership, including: Consumer Revenue SVPs and GMs of brands across the Conde Nast portfolio, SVP Audience Development and Analytics, Licensing Managing Director, SVP of Commerce, and the VP and GM of Continuity Businesses

Consumer Marketing Operations and Finance teams

Product Management and Data Management organizations

Chiefs of Staff for Conde Nast's ELT members

Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or MBA preferred.

15+ years of marketing experience or related field

Seasoned marketer with a creative and analytical mind

Experience garnering insights to identify business opportunities and inform marketing strategies

Experience developing and executing global and regional marketing strategies for portfolio brand companies

Experience running successful marketing campaigns

Understanding and passion for research, data, creative, media and CRM

Consulting, Publishing/Media experience a plus

Cross-channel experience with extensive digital marketing background

Ability to create, lead and present robust data sets and learnings but in digestible and engaging ways
