Fluent VP of Accounting, Controls & SEC Reporting in New York, New York

As our business has continued to scale and establish itself in the public markets following the spin-off of its former parent company in 2018, we are looking to recruit a seasoned and passionate VP of Accounting, Controls, and SEC Reporting with prior public company experience. The VP of Accounting, Controls, and SEC Reporting will lead the Accounting function generally and, importantly, provide leadership and mentoring for an engaged millennial team of 10. Developing a “high performance team” will be an integral part of the role. The VP of Accounting, Controls, and SEC Reporting will report directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, motivate and inspire an engaged millennial team of 10 reports

  • Prepare and review financial statements and internal reporting package

  • Manage quarterly close process and oversee SEC reporting function

  • Manage third-party providers (public audit, internal audit, tax, valuation, etc)

  • Oversee Treasury function and share-based compensation matters

  • Monitor payroll processing and incentive compensation

Requirements

  • Prior public company experience desired

  • Positive, “can-do”, hands-on approach to challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to create scalable processes with strong controls

  • CPA with excellent GAAP accounting knowledge

  • ERP implementation experience

  • Unquestionable integrity

  • Excellent organization, leadership and communication skills

Salary Range: $200,000 to $240,000 - The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Fluent salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.

Fluent participates in the E-Verify Program.
