Citigroup VP, Product Development Services and Commercialization Strategist in New York, New York
The strategist will keep their fingers on the pulse of the FinTech landscape and serve as the voice of the customer. They will help shape and expand Citi’s product offering by identifying customer needs and evaluating opportunity areas and partnerships for commercialization potential. The strategist will combine innovation thinking, research design and analysis, industry and technical expertise and confident project management to drive success in product development and deployment.

What You’ll Do (Position Responsibilities)
Drive customer empathy-driven product development projects & the exploration and execution of startup partnership agreements.
Become a subject matter expert and passionately follow customer needs and external market shifts to infuse insights into project work
Drive the selection of the right innovation approach at the right time to develop new products, value propositions, partnerships, or digital experiences for the US Consumer Business.
Understand multiple businesses and their goals, reach a shared vision of how to solve complex challenges while serving customers, and enable key internal partners to succeed -- including the business, Citi Ventures investors, designers, developers, product managers, business development leaders.
Effectively champion external startups to accomplish business goals.
Demonstrate expert fluency in how to inspire new ideas, storytell with data, express potential solutions visually, design customer research and analyze competition.
Manage multiple work streams with varying timelines and complexity with authority and ease.
Manage all projects using Design Thinking principles with agile methods ensuring that every project - large or small - starts with customer needs, strategy and a well-defined problem to solve.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those
5+ years of relevant experience
Past roles in startup commercialization, fintech partnerships, corporate innovation and/or background in a strategic field such as product strategy, marketing strategy, or management consulting.
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and public speaking skills
Training and fluency structuring and facilitating workshops
Expertise in design thinking methodology, innovation, agile research
Comfortable identifying customer, cultural and competitive insights and writing briefs and strategic recommendation presentations.
Exceptional organization skills.
Able to work independently, solve problems creatively and lead through ambiguity
Proven expertise in time and project management and adapting to change.
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree optional
