OTC Markets Group Inc VP, Public Relations Strategist (Hybrid/3 days in office) in New York, New York

OTC Markets Group Inc., is seeking a seasoned Public Relations professional to join our Marketing team based in the New York office. The VP, Public Relations Strategist contributes to shaping our image as premier US financial market, works closely with multiple internal stakeholders and serves as a liaison for our PR Agency, press, and business affiliates.

Please note OTC Markets is currently operating in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office, 2 days remotely).

The VP, Public Relations Strategist reports to the Chief Marketing Officer and is a key member of the Marketing team. This PR professional will be responsible for the creation, development and implementation of the Company’s global strategy including media relations, content strategy & development, positioning on key topics, market visibility, and community outreach as well as leading internal communication across the Company.


  • Leads the development and drives the implementation of an external communications strategy for OTC Markets Group that builds our reputation, fosters engagement, and drives conversations with external stakeholders and media

  • Develops written content, including messaging FAQ’s, blogs, OpEds and other materials to support the communications goals and objectives to promote our core business lines: Corporate Services, Market Data and Trading Services

  • Crafts compelling media plans and tools including press releases, media pitches, fact sheets and talking points to support key initiatives

  • Builds positive perception of our markets with the media and positions our CEO and Senior Management team as experts in the financial markets ecosystem

  • Manages global PR agency relationships and partners with key content providers

  • Cultivate strong relationships with domestic and international press including print, broadcast, digital and trade press

  • Provide ongoing strategic communications counsel including reputation management

  • Collaborate with marketing team on content generation for external stakeholder and issuer communications including social media and multi-media campaigns

  • Identify media movements and trends across key subject areas for OTC Markets and proactive outreach opportunities.

  • Partner with Human Resources and the Marketing team to create content and tools to engage employees


  • A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Public Relations, or Media Relations with a Corporate Marketing team or PR Agency – prior experience managing public relations is required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

  • Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and interact directly with the CEO and Senior Management

  • Strong media relations skills and demonstrated ability to garner positive coverage

  • Expertise in social media as it relates to corporate communications and reputation management

  • Thorough knowledge of the financial services industry, capital markets and investment community

  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills including ability to use data and metrics to develop business cases and inform decision-making

  • Leadership presence and influence – engages audience and projects subject matter expertise

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
