About This Role:
Forrester is seeking a Vice President, Research Director to lead a research team for our business insights research practice that focuses on data management, analytics, and AI research.

This Vice President, Research Director is responsible for defining a compelling and actionable research agenda that includes vision, strategy, and execution to address the needs of data, analytics, and insights leaders, with a particular focus on data management, data architectures and platforms, and AI/ML technologies. This research agenda must provide a holistic set of answers to the questions that are most important to data and analytics leaders. The VP, RD also ensures the quality of the research produced by the business insights research team.

Our ideal candidate has experience in leading data management and analytics research teams and the ability to lead a team of seven or more and effectively coach both seasoned and new analysts and researchers as well as work with research associates supporting the analyst team. This individual must manage the research operations and collaborate closely with other research directors to craft a connected body of work. This person must be passionate and intuitive about helping individuals achieve their full potential as strategic thinkers, writers, and influencers for the world's biggest brands.

Job Description:
Engage as a thought leader and partner with the analyst team to elevate, refine, and expand the research agenda.
Collaborate with other research directors to draft connected research agendas.
Edit syndicated research reports and ensure the quality of our intellectual property (IP).
Serve as a leader, mentor, and coach to the research team in support of their professional development goals and help establish their impact on our clients and throughout the industry.
Partner with account teams to identify and pursue business opportunities.
Provide input and support to the team of other Forrester professionals who serve data and analytics leaders.
Meet the team performance goals for smooth and adaptive content production, advisory, consulting, and client support.
Participate and speak at Forrester-sponsored and other events to drive awareness of the business insights practice and represent our thought leadership.

Job Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience as a consultant, practitioner, or analyst in data management, data science, analytics, or AI.
At least five years of experience in managing high-performing teams.
Demonstrated experience in presenting to and influencing C-level clients and senior management.
A creative view of markets, technologies, and the dynamics that are influencing the future of data and analytics technologies, skills, and practices.
Exceptional knowledge of senior data and analytics leader issues and their challenges.
Superior analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
The ability to travel 25% of the time or more.
