Experience Level: Experienced Hire Categories: Corporate Services Location(s): 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, New York, 10007, US We have an exciting high-profile role for a bright and seasoned banking analyst who will be responsible for covering a portfolio of regional banks and other credits within the North American Banking & Private Credit team (which also includes funds and asset managers, finance companies and securities firms), within Moody's Financial Institutions Group. The successful candidate will further develop thorough sector and company knowledge to provide impactful in-depth credit analysis on a portfolio of rated firms to ensure rating accuracy, establish and effectively manage issuer relationships at the senior executive level, and actively participate in investor and media outreach. The position also involves participation in Moody's conferences and roundtables, as well as third-party events, playing a pivotal role in raising the profile of the team and the broader Financial Institutions Group. The Role / Responsibilities: Develop in-depth knowledge of assigned credits and take thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and high-quality research impact Perform and present in-depth fundamental credit analysis effectively and comprehensively on a regular basis and at rating committees Build and maintain high quality relationships with firms' senior management, intermediaries, and other external stakeholders Write in-depth, high quality, insightful and focused research on credit trends, specific issuers, or banking industry trends Enhance Moody's franchise and thought leadership for banks and non-banks finance entities through active interaction with intermediaries and participation to high profile events, such as third-party events Coach and develop junior analysts; provide feedback on performance Participate in key divisional and cross line of business initiatives Open to a wide range of cultures and ability to travel across the region Qualifications: Strong academic background at least equivalent to an MBA/CFA 15+ years of assessing all aspects of financial institutions' risk - capital, asset quality, liquidity, funding, and sensitivity - gained from at a regulator, financial institution, asset management or public accounting firm, credit rating agency, or proven equivalent Extensive understanding of the US banking and bank regulation as well as well-rounded understanding of financial markets Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with public speaking experience Strong quantitative and proven analytical skills - including demonstrated work with financial and economic data to inform research and analysis of banks Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines Demonstrate Moody's Culture of Excellence behaviours: Integrity, Collaboration, Responsiveness, Passion and Respect Moody’s Corporation is a Government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended by the Jobs for Veterans Act of 2002, 38 U.S.C. 4212 (VEVRAA), which requires Government contractors to take affirmative action to employ and advance in employment: (1) disabled veterans; (2) recently separated veterans; (3) active duty wartime or campaign badge veterans; and (4) Armed Forces service medal veterans.
