What you’ll do
As the VP Total Rewards you will develop consistent rewards and operations framework in line with KIND’s business needs, culture, and values, including relevant programs addressing domestic and international benefits and compensation, compliance, and processes. You will oversee KIND’s compensation, benefits, and rewards programs, as well as manage our HR Operations team that supports HRIS/technology, payroll and compliance. You will be a member of the HR Leadership team to set overall department priorities and strategies and work collaboratively with KIND Leaders to consult on operations and rewards efforts to achieve KIND’s goals. Your ability to communicate insights from our data to help KIND make sound decisions for our future will make you successful in this role. And this is how you will do it….
Total Rewards (Compensation and Benefits)
Lead the design, strategy, planning, management and communications of the compensation, benefits and incentive pay programs (bonus, equity and long-term incentives) for all KIND team members
Oversee equity plan administration, maintain proper records of vesting schedules, and execute settlements in compliance with plan rules and payroll tax requirements
Manage the annual merit planning process and communications, and ensure our technology is optimized to support an easy and smooth process for the business
Lead a comprehensive assessment of current benefit plans and develop data-driven recommendations for strategy, design and cost structure changes to ensure that we maintain a competitive advantage and meet the needs of our team members and the company
Demonstrate your leadership through expert counsel to HR and Business leadership on compensation issues related to company pay structures, pay change recommendations, new hire offers, and wage and hour regulations
Administer compensation structures, market pricing/surveys, research, cost analysis, trends, and other analytics for compensation and benefits, as well as all other HR programs, ensuring alignment with company strategy and best in class practices
Keep KIND current by conducting and maintaining job evaluations and ensuring integrity of our compensation structure
Partner closely with external benefits consulting firm to design and negotiate competitive US and Canada benefits and develop a strong relationship with carriers.
Ensure compliance by overseeing the administration of all team member benefit programs (including worker’s compensation, insurance, leave of absence, etc.). Coach HR Operations team on resolving complex health and leave situations
Establish and execute wellness strategy to enhance our team members’ experience and oversee planned initiatives and programs
Operations & Compliance
Lead the maintenance of KIND policies in alignment with our values, appropriate laws and regulations
Be a partner with our Legal advisors, IT, and Finance teams to ensure compliance and protect KIND
Oversee the HR Operations team and lead the supporting functions of payroll, employment taxes, HR technology and reporting analytics.
With an eye for important regulations, you ensure all KIND related administrative forms, reports, processes, and audits are completed accurately, timely and in compliance with relevant local, state, federal and provincial regulations for Benefits, HR Recordkeeping and audits and compliance
Technology & Analytics
Your expertise in HR technologies will enable you to design, deliver, maintain and enhance our HR systems (including HRIS) to ensure proper utilization, integration, database management and data integrity
With your analytical skills, you will oversee design, analysis and reporting of HRIS data and communicate findings and insights on HRIS metrics, trends, and variances

Minimum of 10 years of HR operations, technology, and total rewards programs or related experience
BA/BS degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance/Accounting or related field required
Experience working with compensation structures, job evaluation process and benchmark salary data
Experience administering equity programs required (restricted stock units and stock options)
In depth experience with cloud-based HRIS/Payroll systems, such as; Ultipro, Workday, ADP etc.
Proven experience as an Excel Pro & Mentor
Experience with market-based pricing, short and long term incentive administration and other compensation frameworks
Strong project management, organizational and analytical skills to support data analysis and reporting
Very strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to effectively convey messages to different leaders and ensure team members understand total rewards, policies and their accountabilities
A track record of managing, leading and developing a team
Expert knowledge & understanding of HR (local/state/federal) laws
