Summary of position:
Help students grades 5 through 12 develop both academic and social emotional competence.
Job Functions /Responsibilities:
Assist Program Coordinator with both summer and school year activities, including roster development, student recruitment, applications, timesheets, record keeping, data collection, etc.
Tutor and/or assist students with assignments and projects either in person or through zoom or other applications.
Student tracking—Maintain correspondence and communication with Liberty Students in order to provide data necessary for NYSED reports and tracking. Follow through with case load and keep student informed regarding program requirements and activities.
Student workshops--Help design, coordinate, and conduct student workshops on various topics for all students.
Develop and maintain mentoring relationship following LPP guidelines.
Act as direct liaison with teachers and administration working with LPP.
Data Entry- Maintain and track interim and final report information as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
Bilingual strongly preferred (Spanish+)
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Experience working with children and adolescents.
Desire to help both students and parents understand and participate in LPP.
Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or similar area of study
Job Related Physical Requirement:
Periodic lifting, less than 40 lbs.
Required to travel to target schools a minimum of twice a week.
Ability to travel overnight once or twice a year.
