New York University Part-Time Assistant Research Scientist in New York

This position requires a well-organized, highly motivated individual with experience planning and implementing a variety of services for a diverse group of youth-focused on STEAM-related careers and courses emphasizing the Nursing Profession.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Project Director and CPA team in the planning and implementation of instructional and career/college prep services to program participants and their parents.

  • Develop and implement evidenced based practices and effective mechanisms for the provision of a variety of STEM and College Prep classes and seminars.

  • Follow-up of program participants and parents to ensure objectives are met as per funding agreements.

  • Tasks include data procurement, dissemination of information, analysis of data, and reporting requirements.

  • Develop and maintain effective liaison with community partners, including school staff, CBO’s, Colleges, and representatives from Business and Industry, as well as funding sources to effect partnerships that promote access and success for all students.

Timeframe: Part-time during the Academic Year (10 -15 hours) mandatory Saturday

30 Hours a week (Monday through Friday) during the summer component

Continuation based on re-funding

Start Date: October 2021

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $24-$50/hr, based on experience. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

  • Professional degree minimum of a BA/BS degree a BSN preferred along with experience working with youth in college/ career and educational settings.

  • Skill and experience in tutoring or teaching in STEAM subjects for high school students.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required along with the ability to prepare and conduct remote as well as in-person instruction/presentations/seminars; to prepare written reports and dissemination materials required of the project.

  • Strong communication skills required to work collaboratively and effectively with a diverse team, managing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
