Newark Central School District Boys Modified Football Assistant Coach in Newark, New York
The assistant Coach at the modified level is responsible for supporting the leadership for the program within the particular sport.
Assists with plans and supervises all practices, contests, and other events of the team.
Teaches rules, strategies, and skills to the athletes.
Abides by district policies and decisions.
Ensures that practice and game procedures, facilities and equipment are safe for student athletes.
Supervises the management of equipment and uniforms.
Instructs and models positive sportsmanship and citizenship.
Notifies Athletic Director, Athletic Trainer and/or School Nurse regarding major injuries.
Notifies the Athletic Director of any unusual incidents in a timely manner.
Attends meetings as required including:
Pre-season athletes’ and parents’ meetings
League or Section coaches’ meeting.
Attends end-of-season banquet/event with student-athletes and/or families.
Acts a liaison with youth and community organizations in the sport.
Seeks professional development opportunities and notifies staff of the same.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
Maintains appropriate NYS certification in a timely manner.

NYSED Coaching Certification/Licensure OR
NYS Teacher Certification – Physical Education
Previous experience coaching sport at or above level of application
Demonstrated success in leading a successful team/program
Ability and commitment to work with athletes of diverse backgrounds
