Farview Farms LLC Ag Equipment Operator in Newark Valley, New York
2 Fulltime H-2A Seasonal Job available 12/01/2023 - 10/01/2024.
Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery; Operate or tend self-propelled equipment and implements used in agricultural production such as loader, backhoe, forklift, tractor, combine, swather, baler etc. for duties such as fertilizing, planting, weeding, harvesting, storing crops such as corn, soybeans, wheat, hay; Direct and monitor the activities of seasonal help engaged in planting, weeding, or harvesting activities; Maintain inventory, ordering inputs, supplies, equipment as required; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or under filling and drive to market or storage facilities; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions by solving basic mechanical & electrical problems on the farm; Perform some welding as needed; Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed; Perform snow removal.
Requirements: * Three months recent and verifiable experience for the job duties listed. * Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds * Must be able to obtain a drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. * Random drug testing can be performed post hire at the employer's expense * Exposure to extreme temperatures * Extensive pushing/pulling/sitting/walking, and repetitive movements
