Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. Engineering & Cadd Summer Interns in Newburgh, New York

Tectonic is currently seeking Summer Engineering and Cadd Interns to join our team in Newburgh, NY to work on structural engineering and/or wireless telecommunications projects!


The essential functions of this position will include working with computer CADD systems creating, modifying, plotting, and releasing detailed layouts, technical drawings, and working drawings for functional use in accordance with CADD standards from existing drawings, sketches, scanned images, and client drawings. Essential functions also include communicating with project managers, engineers, and other CADD staff in order to create and revise drawings in accordance with project specifications. The employee will also perform site visits and gather pertinent project information, assist with the design, inspection, and coordination of engineering and site acquisition activities, and assist with drafting and compiling construction and engineering documents and reports, and all related duties as required.

Candidates should be currently pursuing a degree or certificate program in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, AutoCad, or another relevant field;
Must be detail-oriented;
Basic level proficiency with AutoCAD 2016 or newer and Microsoft Office Suite is required;
Must be able to travel and to perform site visits as needed;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
Requires a valid, clean driver's license and personal vehicle.

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is often required to assume a stationary position, and regularly perform tasks that require the handling, inspection, and/or feeling of documents, materials, and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. Occasionally, the employee will need to move around on the job-site, sometimes while lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs and/or in hazardous weather conditions. The employee must be able to safely operate a motor-vehicle, in which they may be required to remain stationary for a prolonged period of time. They must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others using the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and conferencing systems.
