Boys & Girls Club of Newburgh Youth Workers/Afterschool Counselor in Newburgh & Poughkeepsie, New York

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh & Poughkeepsie are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to teach and support youth in grades K-12. Positions are available immediately and will run through June with additional opportunities available during the summer months. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check and child abuse screening. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh & Poughkeepsie Youth Workers must be high-spirited, motivated, fun, and have an interest in building a rewarding career with the potential for advancement. Youth Workers are responsible for managing up to 15 children and youth as they transition through their daily activities including homework help, sports and recreation, and computer classes while serving as mentors, planning, organizing, and implementing activities. Youth Workers teach from an engaging classroom curriculum and participate in year-round training in youth development. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; have a high school diploma or GED with a bachelor's degree preferred; must be committed and able to demonstrate enthusiasm and creativity in working with youth. The following part-time positions are available: Afterschool Program (Grades K-12): Mon-Fri, 15 hours/week, between 2:00pm & 6:00pm. (Extended hours available until 8pm) Saturdays (Grades K-6): 9:00am-3:00pm Evenings (Ages 16-21): Fridays 7:00pm - 11:00pm and Saturdays 4:00pm - 11:00pm
