Kyndryl, Inc. Student Intern – Career Pathways (Workplace Experience) in NEWYORK, New York

Your Role and Responsibilities

Career Pathways is part of the Workplace Experience team within the Office of the Chief Information Officer at Kyndryl. The goal of the Career Pathways team is to identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation in attracting talent to Kyndryl and to help employees build their skills by continuously offering them enriching experiences at any stage of their career path, including mentoring, job rotation and other skills building opportunities.

During the summer of 2023, the student intern will be guided by the Career Pathways team to conduct research and analysis of how other companies are managing mentoring and job rotation programs, with the aim of presenting best practices that can inform and refine the Career Pathways initiatives.

The student intern will have the responsibility to:

  • Conduct research on internal and external mentoring, job rotation and other initiatives that are integral to enriching career development programs.

  • Identify external organizations to contact as part of the external research, to gain insights on the programs used by IT and other companies.

  • Conduct interviews with peer summer interns to gain insights on how to improve the Kyndryl student internship program.

  • Consult with the Career Pathways team for guidance and direction throughout the term of the internship.

  • Prepare a presentation at the culmination of the program that summarizes findings and recommendations for Kyndryl’s consideration.

Required Education

Ongoing bachelor’s degree in education, Business Management or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or work/military experience

The pay range for the position will be $30 / hour based on a full-time schedule.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

  • Organized, self-motivated, highly adaptable, and have a strong desire to embrace change.

  • Must be able to work in hybrid mode with the team.

  • Wide degree of creativity and attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in social media and digital media.

  • Ability and/or experience to work independently, as well as in a team environment, through

Collaboration and consultation skills, while working with individuals from all backgrounds and

organizational levels and across functional areas.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Familiarity with project management practices

  • Proficient with Microsoft applications

  • Passion for customer service and enthusiasm for employee engagement
