SUMMARY Performs work activities to ensure clean, orderly attractive rooms in hotels and similar establishments by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Performs a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing and vacuuming. * Responsible for changing and laundering linen. * Replenishes restroom supplies, towels and performs related services. * Scrubs lavatory, floors, walls, mirrors, and fixtures. * Obtains list of vacant rooms which need to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check outs in order to prepare work assignments. * Inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness. * Advises manager or desk clerk of rooms ready for occupancy. * Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies are in guest rooms. * Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action. * Examines rooms, halls, and lobbies to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management. * Ensure guest comments to be 95% favorable. Turn all lost and found items in to your supervisor and log room or location where found, be 100% accurate of description, and know reporting procedure. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE No prior experience is necessary, but may require training. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, and other employees of the organization. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
