Maintenance Electrician

Position Description

Job Summary

Performs all electrical and mechanical operations required to maintain plant processes including automation and control systems. The incumbent must possess knowledge of and experience with PLC programming and programming of AC/DC motor drives. Installs and troubleshoots various equipment including electrical and electronic support systems. This position is responsible for safely analyzing electrical machinery malfunctions. Troubleshooting knowledge and experience as well as electrical/electronic and mechanical aptitude with knowledge of power transmission, bearings and seals and electrical components is a requirement of the position. The incumbent is also responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and repair of all machine tools, shop tools and maintenance of production and building equipment. Assures the proper maintenance of stock items required to perform the general responsibilities of this position. Required to complete a daily maintenance work log and issue purchase requesitions for repair parts. The position supports the EHS programs of all production operations. Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and governmental guidelines, rules, and regulations pertaining to health, safety, and environmental issues. Supports all ISO activity. Supports new product and new process transfers from R&D group.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required Journeyman Electrician required 5 years of verified external experience preferred Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and in team environment

Additional Description

Must be certified/licensed to drive a forklift truck, boom lift & scissor lift.

This position requires heavy physical activity. Continuous bending, carrying, fastening, holding, installing, lifting up to 100 pounds, climbing ladders (approximately 14 feet off the ground), and working in a dusty environment. (as needed) Because this position works outside, as well as in the plant, working conditions will be cold in winter, hot and humid in summer.

Works any shift as assigned and occasional overtime as required.
