Healthy Kids Programs Early Learning After School Director in North Syracuse, New York

Learn more about working with us here.We are currently hiring a Director for our Pre-K After School Program located at the North Syracuse Early Education Program.PAY: $17-20 per hourSCHEDULE: 2:30-6:00pm, Mon-FriJOB STATUS: Part Time, non-exemptJOB CONSISTS OF:Ensure staff and program complies with OCFS guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policiesDirect hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which include fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.Perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.Provide continual communication with parents and family members via the Brightwheel App.Communicate effectively and regularly with your direct report, keeping them abreast of daily occurrences and issues as they arise and in a timely manner, working collaboratively as a team to provide the highest quality of care, a positive working environment and to problem solve proactively.RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:To be qualified as a Director, a person must possess either:(i) a bachelor's degree, including or in addition to 12 credits in early childhood, child development, or a related field; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; or(ii) a New York State children's program administrator credential; one year of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home, or another early childhood program; and one year of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; or(iii) an associate's degree in early childhood or related field, with a plan of study leading to a bachelor's degree or a New York State children's program administrator credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or another early childhood program; and two years of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work; or(iv) a child development associate credential or another office-recognized credential, with a plan of study leading to a bachelor's degree or a New York State children's program administrator credential; two years of full-time teaching experience in a child care center, family or group family day care home or another early childhood program; and two years of experience supervising staff in a child care program or a related field of work.QUALIFICATIONS:Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services.Must be medically fit to perform all job duties, free of communicable disease including TB, and provide documentation from a licensed physician within the past year.Warm, friendly, caring, upbeat personality. Exceptional people skills in dealing with young children, parents, and staff. Professional, reliable, and prompt.
