PetIQ A Full-Time Veterinarian in North Tonawanda, New York

Our Wellness Centers provide high quality services including diagnostic tests, vaccinations, preventative medications, microchipping and more!

We are currently looking for a Veterinarian to work Full-Time at our Wellness Clinics in North Tonawanda, NY.

The Veterinarian is responsible for providing veterinary care onsite at our Wellness Clinic to ensure VetIQ procedures are carried out in a manner that promotes our team as a leader in providing quality affordable preventative healthcare to pet owners.

Job Duties/Essential Functions:

  • On-site Veterinarian for our Wellness Clinic

  • Mentors an effective and productive staff at the Wellness Clinic, Participates in the training and accolade progress of the staff

  • Interact with clients during the check in process, while completing exams and services, on the phone and during walk in consultations

  • Make product and services recommendations to clients

  • Build and maintain mutually beneficial partnership with the Pharmacy Manager

  • Travels to other Wellness Clinic sites to support training, fill shifts or participate in new store openings

  • Performs medical exams and blood draws; administers, vaccinations and microchips

  • Educates clients and recommends preventative care and products

  • Educates Walmart customers as part of our ?Vet is In? program, and participate in Walmart in-store wellness events as directed.

  • Follows up with client calls or emails in regard to their pets

  • Completes medical records by adding relevant information and history into system

  • Clearly understands and delivers VetIQ medical standards and ethical practices

  • May travel out of state to represent VetIQ in state board matters

  • Continuously strengthens and builds the VetIQ brand

  • May be requested to become licensed in other states as needed

  • Other duties or functions as requested

Education and Training:

  • Licensed Veterinarian in good standing

  • Health Certificate Accreditation

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Vaccine protocols, Intestinal parasites prevention and heartworm prevention, Heartworm disease in both cats and dogs, Heartworm and flea preventatives, Prescription Products

  • Ability and high comfort level in approaching host location?s customers to educate about our clinics

  • Ability to present in front of a group

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Genuine ability to articulate VetIQ brand communications in a positive manner

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service

  • Ability to ensure accurate and reliable work product

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Creative, flexible and innovative thinker; management skills to mentor team members

  • Must successfully pass criminal history background check

Environment and Physical:

  • Lift up to 150 pounds assisted

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance

  • Stand/walk/move about for prolonged periods of time while at a clinic

  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, Kneel, and crouch

  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, finger-arm-hand dexterity with the ability to reach and grasp

  • Able to work full-time, Wellness Clinic hours

  • Fast-paced, fluid work environment

  • Some outdoor clinic work and activities may be necessary
