The Division of University Advancement at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position ofAssistant Director of Development, Donor Events and Communication. Expectations include, but are not limited to, developing and executing a series of engaging donor events. Additionally, this position is responsible for designing and implementing strategies for growing the 1889 Society, SUNY Oneonta's leadership annual giving society.
The Division of University Advancement raises charitable gifts and grants to strengthen alumni programs, traditions and networks, and build sustaining long-term relationships that enhance the financial resources, reputation and visibility of the college. Duties include but are not limited to:
Plan and implement SUNY Oneonta's donor events, including the Celebration of Giving, named gift dedications, regional donor events, and the 1889 Society event series.
Collaborate with the Director of the Fund for Oneonta to create a solicitation strategy utilizing direct mail and electronic communications for growing the 1889 Society.
Lead all acknowledgment and stewardship strategies for the 1889 Society.
Write compelling and informative donor-directed pieces, including acknowledgment letters, stewardship reports, web content, and collateral for various campaigns, events and activities.

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Two or more years of experience in fundraising, marketing, public relations, or a related field
Event management experience
Effective written communication skills.
Preferred:
Demonstrated professional success in fundraising, alumni engagement, or marketing
Experience developing or implementing a communication plan
Experience using The Raiser's Edge or a similar CRM system
Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
