The Office of Facilities, Safety and Physical Plant at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for the position of Construction Site Representative. This is a one year renewable term appointment. Expectations include monitoring and oversight of SUNY Oneonta construction projects.

Duties include but not limited to: functioning as an on-site representative for SUNY Oneonta, State University Construction Fund (SUCF), and the architect/engineer on various construction projects as assigned; assisting in the planning and design process of SUCF projects; working with faculty, staff, and design professionals in development of those projects; during construction, overseeing contractor compliance with contract drawings and specifications; monitoring contractor progress; responding to contractor questions; review of contractor administrative work/payment requests on behalf of SUCF/SUNY/consultant; management of project close-out and warranty duties as required; other project related duties as assigned.
Required qualifications: bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering or related field and 5 years of field experience managing construction projects - OR - associate’s degree in architecture, engineering or related field and 10 years of field experience managing construction projects; demonstrable working knowledge of applicable building codes, laws, rules and standards regulating design and construction; demonstrated knowledge of project specifications, plan drawings and other construction documents including submittals and shop drawings.
Preferred: over 5 years’ experience and expertise in mechanical and electrical building system design and construction; effective written communication and presentation skills; ability to work with minimum supervision; computer literacy in Microsoft Office products; experience working with and serving diverse populations.
