Job Description:Help support dynamic faculty teaching and student learning at the State University of New York at Oneonta as Faculty Center Staff Assistant. The Faculty Center for Teaching, Learning, & Scholarship (FCTLS) is dedicated to fostering effective technology integration in teaching and learning. We aim to inspire and engage faculty, academic staff, and campus functional groups in aligning with university strategic goals. The center provides training and resources to meet campus needs, encourage technology improvement, and advance student engagement. Our vision is to enhance educational opportunities through research-supported, pedagogically driven technology choices.As Staff Assistant at the Faculty Center for Teaching, Learning & Scholarship, you will work with a highly collaborative team and play a pivotal role in empowering professors across their careers. This includes support for scholarly work through the best pedagogical practices and how they interact with technology and campus priorities. The successful candidate will provide support to the Faculty Center to plan, schedule, and promote events and activities, gather feedback from participants, and monitor multiple office budgets. The ideal candidate would possess an attention to detail, the ability to think creatively and implement innovative ideas, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and be comfortable with troubleshooting basic technology issues. To learn more about the University and the Faculty Center, please visit: https://suny.oneonta.edu/ and https://suny.oneonta.edu/faculty-center.Duties include, but are not limited to:Planning, scheduling, and implementing a wide variety of events.Liaising with catering, procurement, academic departments, campus offices, and external constituents to execute FCTLS events.Creating and distributing promotional materials, marketing events.Gathering and maintaining event data in computer systems.Track participant feedback to assess event effectiveness.Assisting in the planning and preparation of the center's budget requests.Salary: $47,261. Information on SUNY's comprehensive benefits offerings can be found at https://www.suny.edu/benefits.Requirements:Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.Experience in either event planning or budget tracking.Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Experience working with diverse and/or multicultural populations. Preferred:Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant design tools.Knowledge of Learning Management Systems, such as Blackboard, Moodle or Brightspace.Experience working with SUNY financial systems, such as Business Intelligence.
