Job Description:

The Office of Global Education (OGE) at the State University of New York (SUNY) Oneonta seeks a detail oriented and globally minded candidate for the full-time position ofFaculty-Led Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Director of Global Education, expectations include collaborating with faculty members to manage short-term faculty-led programs (international and domestic), vetting and contracting with vendors, as well as advising faculty-led program applicants and some study abroad students.

The Office of Global Education (OGE) advances this purpose through programs and services for international students, visiting scholars, education abroad students, and students participating in domestic faculty-led programs. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Developing, launching, and managing international and domestic faculty-led programs (FLPs) in collaboration with faculty, staff, third-party providers, and other offices/departments.

  • Supporting faculty in program development, budgeting, promoting, facilitating administrative FLP review and approval, conducting pre-departure orientation, allocating scholarships, and assessing programs upon their return.

  • Advising students on FLP and SUNY education abroad opportunities.

  • Assisting with planning and implementing education abroad and other office-wide events as needed.

  • Representing the OGE at stakeholder meetings, on committees, and conferences when necessary.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Relevant work experiences and/or studies in global education

  • Valid driver's license

Additional Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of student services within higher education

  • Meticulous organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within an international collegiate office

  • Knowledge of overseas logistical processing, visa guidelines, and global issues impacting campus internationalization

  • Training in Banner or other student information system

  • Experience working with and serving diverse populations
