Employee Services is a dynamic department committed to excellence and providing exceptional services to our campus. We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientedOffice Assistant 1.

Office Assistant 1 is a NYS Classified Civil Service title. As an entry level title, candidates without New York State classified work experience may obtain an Office Assistant 1 role prior to taking a NYS Civil Service exam for the title.

Office Assistants perform a variety of administrative/clerical duties to support the efficient functioning of various departments on campus.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performing data entry

  • Keyboarding and other document preparation

  • Mail, supply ordering, and inventory functions

  • Answering telephones

  • Completing forms

  • Copying/scanning documents

  • Assisting visitors and employees

  • Creating or assisting in the preparation of reports

  • Assist in conducting reference checks for recruitment initiatives.

  • Assist in maintaining employee records and databases accurately and confidentially

  • Responding to employee inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner

  • Scheduling appointments and meetings for the department.
