Job Description:

The Department of Student Life & Leadership at the State University of New York at Oneonta invites applications for the position ofStudent Leadership Coordinator. In this 10-month position, with June and July as non-obligation, the candidate will coordinate the SUNY Oneonta Leadership program (LEAD@Oneonta). Expectations include, but are not limited to the day to day administration of the comprehensive Leadership Education and Development at Oneonta Program (LEAD@Oneonta program); and program and event support as a staff member in the Office of Student Life & Leadership.

This position focuses on daily responsibilities to coordinate the comprehensive administration of the SUNY Oneonta Leadership program (LEAD@Oneonta) in the Office of Student life and Leadership.

Duties include but are not limited to

  • Budget, marketing, program and student tracking, student staff oversite, coordination of platinum interviews, LEAD receptions, and assessment of the program.

  • Collaborate and coordinate in the development and implementation of LEAD@Oneonta programing to include Leaders lunches, monitor and approve events using submission workflow.

  • Coordinate and deliver the capstone Harvey Delaney Leadership Institute.

  • General support for office programming and/or campus wide events which may include some evening and weekend work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience working with campus leadership programs.

  • Experience with event planning and evaluation.

  • Demonstrated higher education campus involvement outside the classroom.


  • Experience working with and serving diverse populations.

  • One to three years of professional experience working in student activities or college unions.

  • Knowledge of the Anthology Engage platform.

  • Completion of a higher education leadership program.

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) competencies.
