SUNY Oneonta invites applications for full-time temporary Cleaners in the Custodial Department, a department within the Maintenance Operations Center.
Cleaning on SUNY Oneonta's beautiful campus can be rewarding work. While you will have a lot of independence, we have experienced supervisors available to support you. And, since cleaning is a physical job, you'll get a good workout too!
As a Cleaner, you will perform building and custodial tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning restrooms, collecting trash, and moving furniture.
Expectations include: the safe and proper use of various equipment and products; ability and willingness to follow oral and written instructions and communications; work in a thorough and dependable manner; and respond to emergency requests for custodial assistance.
Salary: $33,313
Shift: 6am -2:30pm Monday - Friday
NOTE: The temporary full-time appointment is anticipated to last through 8/7/24
Job Requirements:
Required qualifications:
Ability to perform physically demanding labor including, but not limited to, lifting heavy objects up to fifty pounds, standing, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, and repetitive motions
Must be able to work safely and efficiently in an environment containing caustic chemicals and cleaning materials, as well as dust and noise
Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions.
Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience working with cleaning equipment and chemicals
Experience with waste handling
Experience with basic hand tools
Experience working with and serving diverse populations.
