Overview:

The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful professional hands-on experience to students with leadership potential and proven academic performance. Werfen hires students majoring in Engineering and Life Sciences fields into this internship program based on business need. Ideal candidates will combine technical and business knowledge with analytical strength and creative problem-solving abilities.

Position Description

  • Assist the Manufacturing Teams with the following tasks: creation of excel spreadsheet for product manufacturing and Quality Control. Validate spreadsheets according to company validation procedures. Updates of Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs) for different product families.

Additional engineering tasks might be assigned based on the progression of the main objectives:

Scope, plan and execute Manufacturing Engineering requests issued internally. Requests include improvements of manufacturing efficiencies, implementation of engineering changes, improvements of product quality, and resolution of technical issues in a production line. All to be executed with the guidance of the Manufacturing Engineering team.

Key Attributes

  • Develop QC spreasheets and validate them

  • Develop or update Manufacturing & Operations documents such as Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Production Methods(SPMs), Quality Control Plans (QCMs), Routers and Bill of Materials.

  • Initiate Engineering Change Orders

  • Utilize engineering principles to scope and execute the update of Manufacturing & Operations documents.

  • Utilize engineering principles to scope and plan the execution of Manufacturing Engineering requests.

  • Utilize Werfen internal procedures, processes, and systems to document updates and validate spreadsheets.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:

  • Education: The ideal candidate will be entering their Junior or Senior year working towards a degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial, software engineering or equivalent.

  • Experience: At least of prior summer internship in a related industry such as: IT, pharmaceutical, medical devices, automobile and aerospace.
