Job Title: Traffic Control Overview: The Traffic Control position involves directing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around a work site.Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.Responsibilities/Job Duties:•Set up and tear down traffic control devices•Flagging traffic•Maintain a safe area for the motoring public, pedestrians and coworkers in and around the work zoneRequired Skills/Abilities:•Reliable transportation to and from work site•Strong work ethic•Strong math skills •Physical Organization and time management •A CDL license is a plus•Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary•Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted•Consent to a DMV license evaluation•Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate and ATSSA Flagger Training CertificationPhysical Requirements:•Must be able to lift 50 pounds•Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements•Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present•Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squattingOther Preferred Qualities:•Ability to read and understand SDS •Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) •High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree •Basic mathPosition is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru April time-frame. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.Salary Range: $18-$40.80 (Prevailing Wage)Additional Duties:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed.
