Description of Department: The mission of the Division of Extended Learning is to expand access to the SUNY Oswego experience through the creation, delivery and support of innovative and responsive credit and non-credit programming for diverse audiences via multiple locations, modalities and services. We cultivate collaborative partnerships and provide superior customer service to ensure high quality, lifelong learning opportunities. The office coordinates offering of a variety of credit bearing and non-credit bearing courses and programs for both nontraditional and traditional students at the Syracuse Branch Campus, Online, during Summer and Winter terms and at offsite locations. The Extended Learning Division is the home to the SUNY Oswego in the High Schools and Oswego County New Visions programs where eligible high school students are able to concurrently enroll in SUNY Oswego courses for college credit. Extended Learning also coordinates the offering of an "Intensive English" program each summer for students from around the world and English for Academic Purposes courses during traditional semesters. Professional development programs are available by contract, on site, or online. The Division is proud to have received numerous Veteran Friendly designations and provides services to active duty military and veterans online and face to face as a partner at the Jefferson Higher Education Center in Watertown, on Fort Drum and on main campus. We also provide services such as Testing and Proctoring, International Student Services, Non-Traditional Student Services and Room Rental at our Syracuse branch campus.

Description of Responsibilities:
The SUNY North Country Consortium is a partnership of six SUNY institutions that was formed in 1985 to meet the growing educational needs of Fort Drum and the surrounding community as the post expanded. The six member colleges offer North Country residents a total of 14 undergraduate and career certificate programs, 37 associate degrees, 28 bachelor's degrees, 33 graduate certificates, and 24 master's degrees that can be completed locally. The consortium offices are located at Jefferson Community College's Higher Education Center and at the Education Center Annex at Fort Drum.
This position is responsible for the continued administration of the SUNY North Country Consortium and reports to the board. It works in partnership with board members, member campus representatives, military & veteran offices and community agencies to maintain the Consortium's presence and function. The Director supervises 2.5 administrative staff. Together this team provides operations, administrative and marketing support to the member college's programs offered at Fort Drum and JCC. The Director supports the board of directors in steady-state governance, and in the coming year through strategic planning as well. Also, this position is responsible for oversight of a small budget and will facilitate promotional materials and marketing via the Consortium's website, print and some in person activity.
In addition, the Interim SUNY North Country Consortium Director will be expected to display a commitment to undergraduate and/or graduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues. This is a temporary 12 month, 20 hr/week position located in Watertown, NY with some local travel required.
A BA or BS from an accredited institution of higher education held by time of appointment
Demonstrated expertise in managing multiple projects and working with multiple stakeholders
A minimum of 3 years full time professional experience (6 years part time)
Demonstrated skill in written, oral and interpersonal communication
Practice in effective budget management
Experience in Higher Education
Experience serving military and/or veteran populations
