We are currently looking for a talented General Manager to lead our team. The General Manager ensures that the restaurant operates smoothly and in a high state of cleanliness and provides strong leadership and supervision to the staff. He or she manages and trains the staff to ensure they provide exceptional service to customers and ensures that the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and sanitary at all times. The Manager must have extensive restaurant and food service experience and also the business skills to manage the administrative, operational, and financial aspects of the establishment. The ideal candidate has a degree or some training/coursework in a related field (Hospitality, Food Service Management, etc.) and at least three years of restaurant management experience. A current Safe Food Handler certificate is preferred. Candidates must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong supervisory and management skills with high customer service expectations, and good computer skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the management and daily operations of the restaurant
Manages and mentors staff, including recruiting/hiring/training of all employees, overseeing HR/payroll, managing issues of discipline/termination, ensuring ongoing training/education, etc.
Manages and maintains property, which includes ensuring the building/grounds are kept in a clean and safe condition, that all systems are maintained according to set schedules/procedures, etc.
Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
Addresses customer concerns and issues
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
Helps with marketing or advertising campaigns and other promotions
Manages budget and finances
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required
A degree or additional training/coursework in Hospitality, Food Service Management, or a related field preferred
Three to five years of progressive and relevant experience
Experience in supervising and managing staff
Current Safe Food Handler certificate a plus
Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and scheduling
Strong financial acumen and P&L accountability experience
Strong leadership and motivational skills
Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong computer and internet skills
Experienced with business applications, including payroll, scheduling, and accounting software
